How is vacation pay calculated in Lithuania?

Take the pay for the 3 calendar months before the month of leave and divide it by the days actually worked. A quarterly bonus counts in full and annual bonuses count at one quarter, spread over the scheduled working days. Multiply the average daily pay by the working days of leave. Vacation pay is paid no later than the last working day before the leave, unless the employee asks otherwise.

How is vacation pay calculated in Latvia?

Add up the salary, supplements and bonuses for the last 6 calendar months and divide by the days worked. Multiply the result by the working days in the leave. Public holidays and transferred days off inside the leave are not paid as leave days: the leave is extended instead. Vacation pay is due at least one day before the leave, unless the employee asked for it with the next salary.

How is vacation pay calculated in Estonia?

If the employee received only a fixed salary for the last 6 months, no average is calculated and the salary is kept. With variable pay, divide the pay for the 6 months before the calculation month by the calendar days, minus public holidays and absences, and multiply by the leave days. Public holidays inside the leave extend it. Vacation pay is due by the second to last working day before the leave, or with the next salary if agreed.

How much annual leave do employees get?

Lithuania: 20 working days for a 5-day week. Latvia: 4 calendar weeks, not counting public holidays. Estonia: 28 calendar days. Longer leave applies to some groups, for example minors and people with reduced work ability.

Is vacation pay taxed?

Yes. In all three countries vacation pay is taxed like salary, with income tax and social security contributions.
